Joe Hornstein is Vice President of Philanthropy for Goodwill Industries of South Florida, Inc. Serving in this role since 2023, he was tasked to launch Goodwill South Florida’s first-ever office for philanthropy in the iconic local nonprofit’s 65-year history.

Hornstein came to Goodwill from the FIU Foundation, where he last served as Senior Executive Director for Principal Gifts, Capital Projects and Corporate Relations. Overall, he spent more than a decade with the FIU Foundation after 22 years working within the NCAA intercollegiate athletics community.

A lifelong Floridian, Hornstein group in North Miami Beach and Pembroke Pines, graduating from Cooper City High School in Ft. Lauderdale. He attended the University of South Florida, graduating with a degree in Public Relations. From there, he went on to serve as a Graduate Assistant in Florida State University’s athletics department.

Professionally, he has worked at the University of Miami, Orange Bowl Committee, University of Central Florida, as well as FIU Athletics.
